amd64-microcode software package provides Processor microcode firmware for AMD CPUs, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install amd64-microcode
amd64-microcode is installed in your system.
Make ensure the amd64-microcode package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep amd64-microcode *
You will get with amd64-microcode package name, version, architecture and description in a table
